Detroit freaking Red Wings

Kategori: Allmänt

Hi guys! How are you doing?
I am really good and I am super exited to tell you guys about my weekend.
I took so many pictures on both my phone and my camera so I might just do two different posts with pictures and text, we'll see!

So as I said I would talk about my weekend. Me, my girlfriend and her family + their exchangestudent went to Detroit for the weekend to go to the Detroit Red Wings game. We also went to a golfshow, Sophie's dad works at a golfclub so he were there representing his club. That was a lot of fun because they had all these cool putting-greens and a lotttt of clothes and hats. It was fun spending a couple of hours there! After that we went to a mall and I bought two pairs of shoes. I really needed new shoes because my other ones are litterly falling apart. It was two for the prize of one so I was happy! I'll post a picture later of them! (You can also see one pair of them on some of the pictures, they are red and they're nike's).

Before the game we went to eat at a restaurant called "Hockeytown". It was a super cool restaurant/bar people go to before the game to hang out and eat or just to watch the game. They had good food and it was a really nice place. They had motorcycles in the windows!
I took a picture of it, this is how it looks.

After hockeytown we took the car to the arena. The Detroit Red Wings arena is called Joe Louis arena and it is huuge. We had the privlages to park in the same parkingarea as the players, which is right next to the arena, seriously, that was so cool to see all the players cars lined up by their number plates! We went in the backdoor and waited for a while inside for a guy to take us to our seats. Here area couple pictures!

When we got to our seats I was like holy crap. We sat right behhind the bench, two rows up. I've never been that close ever to professional hockeyplayers, or any other professional players of some kind! It was like you were in the game! I could see all my swedish boys on the bench and I was thinking of talking to them but I didn't.
Anyways, here are some pictures of the game, not just some, a ton of pictures:

The game was the coolest sporting event I've been to because I actually knew the guys on the ice! The were from Sweden and some of them, like Niklas Kronwall, is born and raised in Sthlm and has played for my favorite team in Sweden, Djurgården! It was just amazing seeing it live and all the people around you and it was so cool. I get like a kid in a candystore just writing about it.

The game ended 7-4 to the Red Wings and everyone was cheering and was happy about that. We went down to where we came from before the game started and waited for a while. We went in to a guys office and he had real jearseys for us!! Real Red Wings jearseys! I got a one with number 11, Alfredsson, because he is Swedish. We went out from his office and he lead us to the lockerroom and we were in the Detroit Red Wings lockerroom. I could not beleive it. It was like the coolest thing ever! We also went out to the bench where the Red Wings player sit during the game and took pictures and just sat there for a while and looked around on the huge arena. It's got to be hard to focus sometimes when you are on the ice whit all these people around! But I don't know, they might be used to it. Here are some pictures from all the things I've talked about above:

When we we're almost done and ready to go I saw Niklas Kronwall, me and my dad's favorite player in the NHL. He is Swedish and he is born and raised in Djurgården so I told Sophie I had to talk to him. Sophie's dad brought me up to him and he said, This is Jon, he is from Sweden, and Kronwall was like; Tjena!! Hur är läget? We talked for a while about the game and where I live in Sweden and about Djurgården and that he has got a summerhouse in Ljusterö and that he always stops on the way there in our town to buy groceries and stuff! He said, it's a small world we live in, and I agree! Here are a couple pictures of me and the Champ:

So to summerize this weekend I would first of all thank the family Shriver for taking me to Detroit with them. I had a really good weekend that I won't forget! I hope you guys got a perspective what I did this weekend and that you had the same amount of fun I did!

I'll talk to you guys later!

/ Jon
